Brain Tumour Research is a fast-growing national charity, striving to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research.

Since their launch in 2009, they have seen unprecedented income growth and now need experienced, energetic, professional and hardworking individuals to join their busy team and take the charity to the next level.

The Role’s Main Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing plans to maximise income from corporate partnerships
• Researching and developing effective lasting partnerships with corporates to meet funding targets
• Approaching prospective partners and presenting mutually beneficial partnership proposals
• Developing relationships and providing account management for their corporate partners

It is expected that the  Corporate Fundraiser will have at least three years’ corporate fundraising experience  This is a  full-time positions based at their Head Office which will be moving to Milton Keynes in the autumn. Proficiency in excel, word and powerpoint is essential.

• Leading the implementation of and spearheading the growth of income based on our fundraising strategy.
• Developing relationships with and securing financial support from key high-value prospects, including corporate partners
• Raising agreed net fundraising income each year
• Contributing to and supporting the implementation of our five-year strategy
• Inspiring, developing and growing our fundraising team
• Recruiting, developing and growing our volunteer base

Senior Support Worker with Creative Support

Salary: Up to £17,456pa based on experience

Creative Support is developing Supported Living services in Milton Keynes. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in establishing and developing a brand new service.  They are looking to recruit a full time creative, self-motivating and resourceful individual with a willingness to go the extra mile to provide individually tailored and compassionate support to people with a learning disability in a supported living environment.

You will have a keen insight into the challenges and opportunities that their service users face on a daily basis and have the ability to manage support effectively in all aspects of leading a fulfilling life and positive wellbeing, alongside ensuring personal care is delivered in a dignified and positive manner.

You will be an effective leader, leading by example and embedding the values of opportunity, choice and wellbeing within the services and people you manage, experience of managing supported living services is essential or 2 years experience working in a supported living environment in a support role.

Your responsibilities will also include:

Co-ordinating and supervising the staff team
Ensuring staff implement person centred planning, communication approaches, positive risk management and positive behaviour support guidelines
Enabling service users to live active lives, develop skills, encourage social inclusion and progress towards greater independence
Maintaining excellent working relationships with service users, families and involved professionals.
Working shifts on a 24 hour rota including sleep ins.
Ensuring the services you manage exceed Care Quality Commission expectations

Creative Support is developing new Supported Living service in Milton Keynes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care, practical and emotional to people with a learning disability
  • Identifying and accessing opportunities for social inclusion with service users
  • Collaborating with service users, families, and involved professionals to provide a consistent and coordinated service that meets the needs of service users
  • Assisting the line manager with the day-to-day running of the service

Experience of working with people with a learning disability is desirable, as is a relevant professional qualification. The position is open to graduates, experienced practitioners, and people looking to start their career in social care. You must be warm and able to work in a person-centred way with people with a learning disability. A clean, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

You will be expected to work flexibly on a rota to meet the needs of the service, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
