Strengthening Families briefings

What it is :

Strengthening Families is the Milton Keynes Council’s approach to the national programme, Troubled Families. The Programme expanded in April 2015 and the eligibility criteria for the Programme have now changed significantly. In order to support professionals working with families MKC are holding a number of briefing sessions.

The briefing will include:

  • How the local  Programme is set up
  • Eligibility criteria for families
  • How to nominate
  • Developing a Family Outcomes Plan
  • The benefits of the Programme for families
  • How to help families achieve their ‘outcomes’

Who is it for

The briefings are for any service or team involved with supporting families, this includes:

  • Schools
  • The police
  • Health services
  • Childrens services
  • Adult support services
  • Voluntary organisations
  • Probation services

The briefing dates are:

  • Tuesday 1 December 2015   09:30 – 10:30 Civic Offices
  • Thursday 28 January 2016    16:15 – 17:15 Civic Offices
  • Tuesday 12 January 2016      09:30 – 10:30 Civic Offices
  • Wednesday 3 February 2016 16:15 – 17:15 Civic Offices
  • Wednesday    10 February 2016      09:30 – 10:30 Civic Offices
