Wolfson Foundation
A major funder of capital infrastructure (new build, refurbishment and equipment) supporting excellence in the fields of science and medicine, health & disability, education and the arts & humanities.
Deadline: 5th January 2016.
Go chemistry!
The Royal Society for Chemistry Outreach Fund provides financial support to individuals and organisations in order to enable them to run chemistry-based events and activities for public audiences.
Through the Outreach Fund, they want to support projects that:
- raise awareness of the place of chemistry in people’s everyday lives, especially those not already interested in chemistry, and/or
- develop the science communication skills of people who are already highly trained in chemistry.
Amount: £2,000.
Deadline: 29th January 2016.
Rosa
Rosa, the UK Fund for Women and Girls, launches a new grants programme Voices from the Frontline. Grants to increase the skills, capacity and credibility of women who wish to challenge gender inequality and promote awareness and change, moving us closer to social justice and equality for women in the UK.
The sort of work which might be supported includes coaching for a service user to speak at an event, lobbying for training to support organisational advocacy strategies, or the creation of campaign materials, such as posters and videos.
Amount: £500 – £2,000
Deadline: 11th January 2016
Geovation Challenge
Competition offering cash prizes for the most innovative ideas that can be turned into a commercial success. The 2016 Geovation Challenge question is ‘How can we better manage water in Britain, sustainably?’

Imagine Foundation
Funding is available for charities and projects in the UK that are particularly focused on building community and on empowering participants to reach their potential. Gannett Foundation – Community Action Grants
Grants are available for a range of community projects that take a creative approach to local issues. The Foundation supports projects which take a creative approach to fundamental issues such as education and neighbourhood improvements, economic development, youth development, community problem solving

Foyle Foundation Small Grants Scheme
Grant assistance available to small UK charities for projects that will make a significant impact on their work. Priority will be given to charities that are working at grass roots and local community level. Applications can be submitted at any time.

News
Emphasising charity trustee responsibility in fundraising
The Charity Commission has revised its guidance on fundraising for charity trustees. The Commission is pushing a message that “Trustees must take responsibility for fundraising” …. “trustees have a key role to play in setting their charity’s approach to fundraising and ensuring it reflects their charity’s values.”
The guidance is in draft, and takes account of changes that charity legislation currently before Parliament would introduce. Comments invited by 11th February.
Power to Change
Community businesses give people the power to change their local spaces and places and improve the social and economic prospects of communities in the long-term.
They are currently developing a long-term grant funding programme which will be introduced from February 2016. Details future funding programmes will be announced before the end of 2015. For up to date information you can sign up for their newsletter
