Scripture Union England & Wales (SU) is looking for a dynamic and experienced fundraiser to join its enthusiastic fundraising team in Milton Keynes. Their mission is to enable children, young people and families to become life-long followers of Jesus Christ.

Scripture Union are seeking a committed Christian who is passionate about their mission, who understands the values and motivations of Christian donors and is able to communicate SU’s vision and projects in compelling and inspiring ways.

  • Working in partnership with key staff across the SU Movement, the successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening relationships and for generating increased income from different segments of their database.
  • You will play an important role in implementing key objectives of the fundraising strategy, focusing on:
    • generating increased awareness about SU’s ministry in the Christian marketplace
    • launching new donor acquisition activities
    • managing relationships between SU and its supporters
    • increasing the number of regular supporters and re-engaging lapsed donors or customers with SU’s ministry.
  • Also, you will be expected to invest time and effort in generating financial support from individuals and churches for their International Ministry, undertaking this through the development of specific appeals relating to the work of SU International Mission partners.
  • Educated to degree level or its equivalent, in Fundraising or Marketing, you will have at least three years experience in fundraising, preferably in a Christian charity setting.

This role will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service and has an occupational requirement to be filled by a committed Christian, active in church life. Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9 applies.

Church and Community Fundraising Manager

  • Providing personal care, practical and emotional to people with a learning disability

Experience of working with people with a learning disability is desirable, as is a relevant professional qualification. You must be warm and able to work in a person-centred way with people with a learning disability. A clean, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

Key responsibilities

Head of Site Works with Bletchley Park

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 dependant on experience

A vacancy has arisen for a Head of Site Works at Bletchley Park to deliver the upkeep and maintenance of, and works to, Bletchley Park’s largely Grade 2 listed estate.

This important role will develop and implement the long-term maintenance of the site, buildings and infrastructure and is at the heart of the development of Bletchley Park so will require someone with a commitment to the conservation of historic buildings.  You will have strong project management experience and experience preparing and managing works contracts.

This role requires relevant qualifications or as a minimum CSCS Manager and would suit a person who has RICS membership with Building Surveying experience or Royal Engineers Clerk of Works/Garrison Engineer (C,E or M) with practical works and contract experience.

This role is also responsible for ensuring the Trust meets statutory regulations, codes of practice and recognised standards of performance, practices and record-keeping around the site, including health and safety practices and risk assessment. You will demonstrate knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements and procedures  and have excellent financial and record-keeping skills.

This role is responsible to the Director of Support Services and will work across teams to ensure all work is coordinated with the visitor facing side of the business.

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to listen to and assist others.  You will be enthusiastic with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.  A flexible and hands-on approach to work is required, along with attention to detail and good written and presentation skills.

The role will may require some evening and weekend working.
