2012 Spirit of Achievement
Amount: £100,000 – £250,000
Deadline: 22nd April, 5pm
On Organ Fund
Churches of any denomination can apply for a grant of towards repairing their pipe organ. they must have raised at least half of the money, and signed a contract with the builder.
Amount: £100 – £1,000
Deadline: 30th April
Public Engagement in Science
The Public Engagement Small Awards Scheme provides funds for small, local projects promoting science and technology. Anyone can apply, including grant-funded research groups, schools and museums.Projects must be publicising engagement or teaching about science and technology areas including:
- particle physics
- nuclear physics
- space sciences
Amount: £500 to £10,000
Deadline: 28th April, 4.00pm
Hilden Charitable Fund
Funding is available to charities in the UK and non-governmental organisations in the developing world. In the UK, the Fund supports projects concerned with: homelessness; asylum seekers and refugees; community-based initiatives for young people aged 16-25 years and penal reform. In the developing world, the Fund supports projects concerned with: community development; education; and health.
Deadline: 29th April
Concertina Charitable Trust
Grants are available to charitable organisations in England and Wales to improve the quality of life of elderly members of society, through cultural activities and related facilities.
Amount: £ 250
Deadline: 30th April
Dowager Countess Eleanor Peel Trust – General Grants
The Trust awards grants to registered charities with the emphasis on helping: medical charities and research; older people; and those who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own.
Deadline: 30th April
Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust
Grants for animal welfare work. The Trust favours applications from smaller animal welfare charities which demonstrate an active re-homing and rehabilitation policy for domestic animals taken into their care, or the conservation of wildlife.
They will fund:
- general running costs,
- feeding, capture, neutering and release of feral cats.
- assistance with vet’s fees and neutering costs of animals owned by those on low incomes.
- donations towards capital purchases involving land, buildings, vehicles, equipment and educational material.
Amount:£1,000 to £10,000
Deadline: 1st May
National Vegetarian Week – small grants
Not for profit organisations in the UK or informal groups of friends, parents or students can apply for grants for events during National Vegetarian Week (16-22 May 2016) which celebrate and promote vegetarianism.
Amount: up to £200,
Deadline: 9th May
Youth Music Programme aims to increase the number of children and young people across England that have the opportunity to take part in high quality musical activities.
There are two funds currently open:
Fund A: £2,000 – £30,000 Deadline: 22nd April, 5pm
Fund B: £30,001 – £200,000 Deadline: 20th May 2016, 5pm
Triangle Trust 1949
The Triangle Trust 1949 fund supports organisations working with carers, and the rehabilitation of offenders or ex-offenders. Development grants are available, to help groups form a sound foundation for their future.
Amount: up to £40,000
Deadline: 28th April
The Discovery Foundation: Discovery Grants
Previously known as the Santander Foundation, the Discovery Foundation offers funding to support local charities and community interest companies that are helping disadvantaged people locally across the UK. The Discovery Grants scheme combines the previous ‘Community Plus’, ‘Learn and Grow’ and ‘Money Skills’ grant schemes into one new funding programme. £5,000 is available and forms can be picked up at any Santander branch or download online. Applying to Sport England
Sport England have a short video on their website explaining how to apply for their funding.
Public Health Research Programme
Grants are available to fund research interventions outside the NHS aimed at improving public health and reducing health inequalities. The programme is multidisciplinary and broad and it will cover the range of public health interventions, from social marketing for the promotion of safer sex, to speed humps for the prevention of road traffic accidents. New Covenant scheme
The Government’s fund to support veterans has set out priorities for 2016:
- Veterans’ Gateway – a single project
- Families in Stress (grants of £20,000 – £300,000)
- Improving Local Covenant Delivery (Local Authorities only)
- Community Integration / Delivery of local services (grants up to £20,000)
