The Western Expansion Area (or WEA for short!) is a new development which, when complete, will be home to around 18,500 people. The site runs along the v4 Watling Street from Stony Stratford in the north, all the way to Crownhill. There are plans for 6600 homes, as well as shops, schools, parks and open spaces, and community facilities. The WEA will take a number of years to build but the first residents have already moved in.

Community Action: MK have been working with MK Council to install 2 temporary community centres in the WEA, one on each end of the site. The first temporary facility will be in place by autumn this year in Whitehouses (near to Crownhill). The second will be built by Spring 2017 in Fairfields (near to Stony Stratford).

We are looking for voluntary, community and sports groups who may wish to hire the space in these facilities. If you would be interested in finding out more please get in touch with Hannah, CAMK Growth Officer.

There is also a grant fund available to support the setup and development of new or existing activities which benefit residents living in these new areas. Get in touch to find out how we can help you and to explore the exciting opportunities to work with MK’s newest residents.
