Central Services Support Officer with World Vision

Location: Milton Keynes and London (ad hoc)

A chance to provide Support Services while helping change children’s lives for the better

World Vision is the world’s largest international children’s charity. Every day they bring real hope to millions of children in the world’s hardest places as a sign of God’s unconditional love. At World Vision, their aim is simple – to keep every child free from fear.  They were proud to be voted one of the Top 100 ‘Best Not-For-Profit Organizations to Work For’ in 2014 and 2015 and they are absolutely delighted to be ranked in 9th place in the same category for 2016.

As they continue their mission to create a sustainable, high-performing World Vision team of passionate Christian professionals, they are keen to appoint a enthusiastic, resourceful Support Officer to manage and deliver a number of their core services. This in turn will ensure their World Vision staff can operate seamlessly, effectively and efficiently within their own roles.

The position is varied, interesting and at any time during your working day you could be involved in duties from maintaining, checking and receipting deliveries, ordering stock and stationery, managing meeting room and common area requirements, to supporting relationships with external users of their facilities and providing occasional admin support in respect of budgeting and invoice processing. You will also be expected to provide occasional cover for their Receptionists. Overall, you will ensure that the support capacity you offer is well organised, efficient and delivered in a timely and professional way.

Ideally educated to GCSE level or equivalent, it would be beneficial if you have previous office support experience as well as being a competent user of Windows and Microsoft Operating Systems. Experience of Stock Management (Access) and Archive (Excel) systems and a working knowledge of Lotus Notes would be an advantage too. The role involves some lifting or moving of heavy objects so it’s fair to say that this is a hands-on role where you could be called upon at any time to perform desk or more ‘active’ duties often remotely and autonomously as well as part of a team.

This is a position which will allow you to learn and develop new skills within a busy working environment and, as a Christian, the role offers you the opportunity to integrate your Christian faith and be sensitive to its various expressions across cultures and denominations. Although the role is based in Milton Keynes, there will be the chance to provide cover on an ad hoc basis at their London office.

Would you like to be part of World Visions’ Central Services team? If you believe you possess the necessary skills for this role, they’d welcome your application.

Please note that if response for this role is higher than anticipated, they reserve the right to commence interviews and appoint before the published closing date.

World Vision UK is an Equal Opportunities Employer and this role requires the post holder to have a Christian faith as an occupational requirement.
