MK Community Foundation and Community Action: MK are working in partnership and are hosting a breakfast and networking event for the Open University so that they can share with you the opportunities that they are offering from the creation of the Department of Public Leadership and Social Enterprise, which was funded by a local philanthropist. This faculty are seeking to provide courses from entry level to help develop leadership within the sector.
We believe that this is a great opportunity for our sector to encourage people to develop career paths. This will be of particular benefit to organisations that do not have national body that offer development opportunities, but also for those that have a lot of volunteers and or beneficiaries that could seek future employment or voluntary opportunities in the voluntary sector. For example, people who are now homeless and seeking support, may find this as a way of starting on a new life plan.
The session will be held on Thursday 7 July at Margaret Powell House, starting at 8.30. You will be greeted with coffee and pastry, which will be followed by a presentation from James Rees who is heading up this work.
Please RSVP to Emma Wilkinson at MK Community Foundation.
