On a very wet and rainy Monday in early June, 29 people braved the weather and headed out for guided tours of Fairfields in the Western Expansion Area (WEA). The WEA is Milton Keynes’ largest new development, and once complete, will have around 6500 homes as well as new schools, local centres, green space and community facilities.
The group included new residents living in Fairfields, as well as residents of the wider MK, and representatives from local voluntary and community sector including Parish Councils, MK Springers, Girl Guiding and youth services.
The tours were kindly led by Rob Bellamy, Project Manager from Barratt Northampton who provided attendees with lots of useful information about the site and future development plans.

A big thank you to Rob from Barratt Northampton for the tour, and to Costain Carillion Joint Venture for lending us hard hats and hi viz jackets! Thanks too to all that braved the great British summer weather to join us on the tour!
If you are interested in finding out more about the Western Expansion Area, please contact the Community Action: MK Growth Officer. We can talk to you about plans for the site, as well as give feedback from residents to help you to shape your services.
