Because of successful progress in accepting, welcoming and integrating the families who have moved from Syria to Milton Keynes, it has been agreed by the Home Office, the Milton Keynes Council and the British Red Cross that Milton Keynes will be accepting three more families from Syria in the autumn.
Visit the Refugees Welcome website for more information.
Below are four ways you can get support this campaign:
- Donate furniture – email furnishings@citizensmk.org.uk to say what furniture you can offer. There will be two drop-off sessions at the Bletchley fire station on 16th July (2-5pm) and 6th August (2-5pm)
- Help find more mental health provision – Do you have, or do you know someone who is a qualified psychotherapist or counsellor, with one day a week to spare? If so, please urgently contact Kerri Chana, British Red Cross, on 01908 578 343.
- Help find apprenticeships and work experience opportunities – If you have or know of any opportunities, please contact Kerri Chana, British Red Cross, on 01908 578 343.
- Donate funds – We are currently in the process of setting up an account in order to accept financial donations towards the Refugees Welcome Campaign. These donations could go to a variety of causes, including the purchase of new items for the families houses or to other projects or activities supporting refugees in Milton Keynes.
