Aylesbury Vale Rape Crisis is seeking to appoint a Strategic Manager to lead on the strategic and financial development of the charity. This is an incredibly exciting time for AVRC as they are entering a new phase of development piloting and developing new services, reaching more survivors of sexual violence and increasing their impact.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, creative and ready to find new opportunities to help the charity grow. They will be passionate about their work and dedicated to reaching their vision of a world in which women and girls are free from the fear and experience of sexual violence, and supported when it does occur.
Hours are flexible. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as will travel within Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. Occasionally travel elsewhere may be required for regional meetings and partnership meetings.
This role is subject to receiving Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks and to a six-month probationary period. The post holder will be eligible for 25 days annual leave per annum (pro rata).

Job description:
- Strategic Development
- Identify opportunities for organisational development and growth.
- Plan, develop and lead AVRC’s strategy in line with the constitution, local and national priorities for survivor services.
- Develop and maintain appropriate short term and long term business planning.
- Develop, maintain and deliver a fundraising strategy.
- Develop and maintain AVRC’s policies, ensuring they are implemented and reviewed within the set timeframes.
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with fundraising activities.
- Financial duties and responsibilities
- Manage the budgets and day to day bookkeeping.
- Prepare monthly management reports and financial updates for the trustees.
- Prepare value for money cost assessments for proposed activities.
- Report to funding bodies as required.

- Support the Service Manager in the recruitment of counselling volunteers.
- Managing social media accounts and website updates.

Experience
Essential
- Experience managing support services within a voluntary, community, statutory or private care setting.
- Track record of successful fundraising.
- Experience writing business plans, strategies and policies.
- Bookkeeping experience.
- An understanding of the impacts of sexual violence on individual survivors and the wider community, and the support needs of women and girls who have experienced sexual violence.
Desirable
- Knowledge of potential sources of funding.
- Project management experience.
- Experience collaborating with multiple organisations.
- Knowledge of child and vulnerable adult protection procedures and legislation.

Aylesbury Vale Rape Crisis is seeking to appoint a Service Manager to lead, recruit and train their volunteer counsellors. This is an incredibly exciting time for AVRC as they are piloting and developing new services, reaching more survivors of sexual violence and increasing tjheir impact.
The ideal candidate will be a Counsellor qualified to Level 5 with experience working with victims of sexual violence and training other counsellors.
Hours are flexible and will primarily be conducted from their office in Aylesbury but some home working may be agreed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as will travel within Buckinghamshire.

Job description:
- Service Delivery
- Oversee the provision of all support to women accessing the service.
- Conduct assessments of new referrals to ensure an appropriate service is provided and volunteers are appropriately paired with clients.
- Manage the waiting list of referrals and follow up discussions in a timely manner.
- Ensure appropriate records and notes are kept by the charity and the volunteers.
- Act as AVRC’s Safeguarding representative.
- Management of Volunteers
- Recruit and train new volunteers on at least an annual basis.
- Train new volunteers in Violence against Women and Girls, pre-trial therapy and ensure they have the sufficient skills for supporting their clients.
- Manage volunteers and oversee professional support and supervision for all volunteers.
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Collect data consistent with funders requirements and to Rape Crisis England and Wales national service standard data collection requirements.
- Develop and oversee systems to record and report qualitative and quantitative information and user feedback.
- Involve service users and user feedback in development of future services.
- Adhere to the Rape Crisis England and Wales National Service Standards.
