Do something good today ……. Volunteer!

 

Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) are looking for someone to join their busy team in a voluntary capacity as Admin/Housekeeping for 2 – 3 days per week.

Volunteers need to be friendly and reliable with a willingness to commit.

You will be joining a team that supports individuals with a spinal cord injury so will have plenty of opportunities to meet a range of people and learn about the SIA.

This role would be suited for someone who is looking for routine, a chance to meet new people and for someone who wants to be part of a strong and innovative team.

Tasks include:

  • Front of house reception and clerical duties
  • Answering the phone and transferring to the relevant department.
  • Being one of the first points of contact as people enter the building and when they have visitors.   
  • Greeting visitors and showing them around if required.
  • Ensuring when there are meetings the meeting room is prepared with drinks and lunch.
  • Support with housekeeping, making sure the kitchen is stocked up as well as making sure windows and doors are secure.

Volunteer Room Stewards are required to interact with visitors to provide information about, and sign-posting of, Bletchley Park Trust.

Volunteers will act as first point of contact for all enquiries from visitors, including complaints, and escalating to the Duty Manager, as necessary,  ensure the security of the collections and buildings and monitor the functioning of exhibitions within a scheduled zone.

Dependent upon the zone to which volunteers are scheduled you will need to remain static in the designated areas of your zone, routinely patrol the exhibition area, report all breakdowns of interactives and exhibitions and place temporary signs if required.


Children and Family Centre’s across Milton Keynes are looking for individuals to volunteer as ‘meeters and greeters’ within the centre’s. The role involves being the first point of contact, greeting families for sessions such as stay and play and baby clinics, supporting them to sign in and also answering the phone. Different children’s centres have sessions on different days so there are opportunities on all weekdays.
