The next city-wide MK50 event is fast approaching, the ‘Let’s Party Like it’s 1967’ weekend, is on the 23 – 25 June. So, you may also wish to start thinking about how you and your communities could get involved.
We are asking members of the community, town and parish councils, local businesses and organisations to throw their own 60’s themed parties, or come along to one nearby to celebrate the year Milton Keynes was designated as a New Town (1967!).
Milton Keynes Council have created a Let’s Party Like It’s 1967 Party Pack, giving information on fancy dress, food, music, decorations – everything you need to go back in time to when MK was first built: http://www.mk50.co.uk/get-involved/resources
If you don’t know where to start you might want to take a look at the Events Toolkit: http://www.mk50.co.uk/get-involved/resources
So that the Council can understand the extent to which people are getting involved in their celebrations and to get listed on the website, they would like to know when and where you’re holding your party. Please register your event by emailing the date, time and location of your party to culture@milton-keynes.gov.uk.
If you are planning any events for MK50 please do let them know, and if you need any assistance please do get in touch via culture@milton-keynes.gov.uk
