Mk Snap is celebrating 25 years of supporting adults with learning difficulties this year.
They were host to 70 + volunteers from Argos over a period of 6 days. The volunteers helped to improve the outside learning area for the learners and in preparation for the celebration.
We would like to thank the following businesses for their contributions to ensure we had the materials, tools and resources needed to make this a successful activity:
- Network Rail
- Ringway
- National Trust Stowe
Day one: Saw some heavy work being carried out rehoming two large compost bunkers.
Day two: Muscles were the order of the day to create a base for an existing shed and then to pick the shed up and move it to it’s new home.
Day three: Clearing, tidying and mending was the order of the day when the polytunnel was tidied to accommodate disabled users. Planters were painted and mended, flower beds were cleared of weeds and some decorative stones placed.
Day four: Not for the faint hearted the team cracked on with the repositioning of large railway sleepers to make a raised bed and filled it with earth in preparation for planting.
Day five: Cutting back of branches and shrubs and generally tidying of a large planted area which included the use of strimmers, shears and hedge trimmers.
Day six: Alongside the normal tidying of beds, clearing planting areas the team were asked to move the ‘book of faces’ that is hoped to be used at the celebration.
