Charities get people together to work on the issues they care about, they support their communities, and through volunteering they help people develop skills and connect them to new opportunities. That’s why NCVO have put together suggestions for the next government for what more they can do to strengthen the sector and boost volunteering. They published their manifesto setting out their ideas in five areas:

2. Support local communities for a generation to come
3. Make it easier for charities and volunteers to support our public services
4. Make it easier for people to build their skills and get a good job
5. Give everybody a stake in post-Brexit Britain
