The contribution volunteers make to their local communities is well worth celebrating.

Tuesday 6th June saw many volunteers and Volunteer Coordinators come together to celebrate Volunteers’ Week. The networking event kindly hosted by The Parks Trust celebrated volunteering in Milton Keynes over a cuppa and a piece of cake. Even the sun graced us with it’s presence!

It was a fantastic event attended by individuals passionate about volunteering! They really are the lifeblood of a thriving society.

During the event we asked volunteers What would MK do without you’? And this is what some had to say…………

‘MK would be a less brighter place without volunteers’

‘Without volunteers a lot of good community support would not happen. People need people’

‘A wealth of diverse experience. A lot of organisations are reliant on them for survival and support’

‘It would be a very poor town without us’

‘If it wasn’t for the volunteers in MK we would not have such a beautiful place to spend our leisure time’

‘My organisation depends on volunteers hugely – 90% of what we do on a daily basis depends on volunteers’

‘There would be a void’

‘Without volunteers giving their goodwill and time, MK would struggle and a lot of vulnerable people would not get the extra support they need’

‘If it wasn’t for people like us it wouldn’t be such a pleasant place’
