Community Action: MK are calling on local residents and groups to take part in the next phase of the MK Futures 2050 project, which is all about engaging our local communities on the topics that are key to the future development of Milton Keynes.
If you are passionate about living in Milton Keynes and how it should be developing as a city, apply to join MK Futures Connectors Group, who will represent the views of our local communities and help shape the 6 big projects that have been identified in the MK Futures 2050 Report. The projects are:
Project One: Hub of the Cambridge-Milton Keynes-Oxford Arc
Project Two: MK:U, a new university for Milton Keynes
Project Three: Learning 2050
Project Four: Smart, shared, sustainable mobility
Project Five: Renaissance: CMK
Project Six: Milton Keynes: The creative and cultured city
To find out more about the projects, you can read the full MK Futures 2050 report here.
Community Action: MK have also engaged with local residents about the future of Milton Keynes at the earlier stage of the MK Futures 2050 project in 2016. To find out what local residents have told, read our short report here.
The applications to be part of MK Connectors Group are open until Sunday 25th June. We would like to encourage all members of the community, including individual residents as well as representatives of specific groups, communities and minorities, to join this new and exciting initiative.
The application process is very simple; all you need to do is complete a short online application form and tell us about yourself and the group or the community you would like to represent, and answer the following questions:
- How you will update and inform people about what you have learned as a Connector?
- What arrangements you will use to consult with the people that you are representing, and gather their views?
- What support or training do you think you might need?
MK Futures 2050 Panel will shortlist successful participants in early July. The first meeting of MK Futures Connectors Group is planned for 24 July. If you are not successful in your application, don’t worry – there will be plenty of opportunities in the next year or so to have your voice heard through other events and activities we plan to hold as part of the project. Community Action: MK are completely dedicated to ensuring that a wide range of community members can have their say on the developments of the MK Futures 2050 projects!
