Pedalling Culture is a 2-year, consortium-led, project which aims to increase cultural tourism by putting culture at the heart of Milton Keynes’ green transport infrastructure. It is supported by funding from the Arts Council England. Pedalling Culture will better connect the city’s cultural venues and spaces to its existing and new sustainable transport routes and modes, thus ensuring that those living and visiting Milton Keynes will have better access to its cultural offer.
Community Action: MK is looking to recruit a Pedalling Culture Champions Coordinator to work 17 hours per week over the next 12 months. This role will recruit and manage volunteers to champion the programme in three different areas: communities in Milton Keynes (particularly those who are hard to reach), cultural spaces and businesses so that more people who live, work and visit MK, access cultural spaces using sustainable transport.
Successful applicants will have a demonstrable track record of recruiting and managing volunteers, a passion around educating, empowering and enabling citizens and communities. You will have a commitment to, and basic understanding of sustainable transport, and some awareness of cultural offers in Milton Keynes.
