Beanstalk is a national children’s literacy charity. They recruit, train and support volunteers, placing them into primary schools to help children who are struggling with their reading for a variety of reasons.

A Beanstalk volunteer reading helper goes into a local primary school for 90 minutes twice a week and sees the same three children one-on-one. They focus on improving the child’s reading as well as their confidence and self-esteem through books, games, chat and play.
