We’ve been busy walking and cycling all over Milton Keynes now that the Pedalling Culture project is up and running. Here’s a little whistle stop tour of what has been happening.
Employees from Santander volunteered to map out the new MK Heritage cycle trails, setting off from Bradwell Abbey.
Nicky visited the wonderful Cycle Saviours who will be providing some bike maintenance workshops at future events. Cycle Saviours is part of the MK Christian Foundation family of social enterprises and rescues, restores and reuses pre-loved and abandoned bikes using them to benefit disadvantaged groups while promoting healthy living.
Nicky and her daughter cycled from Wolverton to Stantonbury theatre, along the Railway walk to watch The Mark Bruce Company perform Macbeth.
Nicky said, “I am trying to practice what I promote – cycling or walking to a culture/art/heritage venue instead of taking the car. I have also been biking to work and have clocked up 100 miles in the last 11 days along the redways!”
Cowper and Newton Museum hosted the Sharing Culture launch yesterday which Nicky attended to network with heritage organisations and spread the word about Pedalling Culture. She was impressed with the electric vehicle charging point outside the museum!
