Blue Cross For Pets

This charity has been helping sick, injured, abandoned and homeless pets since 1897. Pets help us in so many ways and they depend entirely on us. That’s why at Blue Cross they believe in helping pets because pets help us.

They help thousands of pets in need every month, providing veterinary care, expert behaviour help and find them loving happy homes. They educate and give advice to current and future pet owners, as well as providing pet bereavement support. They develop lifelong relationships with pets and owners, providing quality care that is accessible and non-judgemental. With your support they can give back to more pets in need.

Pets change lives. We change theirs.

The Blue Cross has a vision that every pet will enjoy a healthy life in a happy home and won’t rest until they achieve it. But they really need your help.

Blue Cross care for around 40,000 pets every year but it is not enough – there are so many more out there who still desperately need them and their help.

£2 a day could keep a cat warm and safe at one of their centres.

£20 could fund an abandoned horse’s basic hoof care.

£136 could provide clinical care for a homeless dog during their stay with them.

Volunteering with Blue Cross

Blue Cross rely on their fantastic team of dedicated volunteers to help them all over the country, and they would love for you to join them!

Every year thousands of volunteers generously give their time to help Blue Cross to help and care for pets across the country.  Whether they are working directly with pets in their rehoming centres, at hospitals or at fostering schemes. It could be something as small as helping them in one of their charity shops, through fundraising, or sharing their messages of responsible pet ownership within their communities – they all make a huge difference to the work that Blue cross do and their time is very valuable to them.
