
Support Development and Volunteering Outreach Worker Role (x2)
We have two roles available, each with elements of specific focus.
The purpose of the posts is to contribute to the support, development and
volunteering services which are central to the work of Community Action: MK.
These are focused around the key elements of:
● Mobilising communities
● Strengthening groups
● Influencing policy and decision making
The post holder will work as part of a dedicated community development team, committed to supporting the community and voluntary sector in Milton Keynes.
The post holder will focus on:
- Undertaking a programme of outreach visits to groups and
residents, to understand their local priorities - Ensuring that referrals to specialist support services are carried out
in a timely and appropriate manner - To keep accurate and effective records about dialogue with groups
and feed this into our intelligence gathering systems to ensure we
are able to spot themes and issues affecting communities and the
sector - Supporting networking opportunities for voluntary and community
sector groups - Coordinating formal and informal training programmes to build
capacity and improve governance structures amongst groups and
residents
Successful applicants will have a demonstrable track record of recruiting and managing volunteers, a passion around educating, empowering and enabling citizens and communities, a have an understanding of Community development principles.
Post 1
Focus area: Walton Grange
Salary: up to £25,295 pa (pro rata)
Hours: 22.2 hours per week (some flexible working required)
Contract: Permanent (dependant on funding)
Responsible to: Community Development Manager (Group Support)
POST 2
Focus area: Expansion Areas (Milton Keynes)
Salary: up to £25,295 pa (pro rata)
Hours: 29.6 hours per week (some flexible working required)
Contract: Permanent (dependant on funding)
Responsible to: Community Development Manager (Lead on Growth)
