In light of the huge impact that the Covid-19 pandemic is posing now and in the future for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE) in Milton Keynes and across the UK, we want you to join us in writing to the Chancellor to speed up and improve the Government’s financial support for the charity sector.

A recent blog from NCVO highlights the key concerns about the Government’s support for the charity sector – here

Thank you to those of you who completed our Covid-19 survey and those of you who talked to us about the issues your groups have been experiencing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The information and the experiences you have shared with us will form part of the evidence base for a report with recommendations setting out the support the VCSE in Milton Keynes needs.  As you all know, in the current climate, the VCSE is #NeverNeededMore. .

We will be sending a joint letter on behalf of the VCSE sector in Milton Keynes to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rushi Sunak, to urge him to speed up and increase the provision for the charity sector and the many vulnerable people that we are all working to support.

We would like to send the letter next week, so we are asking you to put your name as a signatory by close of play on Tuesday 19 May

Next steps:

  1. Read the letter (here).
  2. Add your name as a signatory (here)
  3. Share on social media with the #NeverNeeded More hashtag and encourage other charities and community groups to sign.

Thank you,
Community Action: MK Team.
