Aviva Community Fund is open to applications from smaller charities needed support to adap to the Covid-19 crisis.

Barclays Launches £10m UK COVID-19 Community Relief Programme: Barclays invites UK registered charities with an annual income of more than £1 million to apply for a £100,000 donation to support immediate COVID-19 relief work in communities across the UK. The 100 x 100 programme follows on from the banking institution’s 7 April announcement of a community aid package for the UK.

Baring Foundation offers grants of up to £100k to charities with legal expertise The grants, made under the foundation’s Strengthening the Voluntary Sector initiative, will support charities to make use of the law in tackling disadvantage. The Baring Foundation fund will also make grants of up to £5,000 to help organisations whose operations have been severely affected by the coronavirus

Cadent Foundation: Grants are available for charities, community groups and other organisations for projects that focus on research and innovation, people in vulnerable situations, the environment, and local communities.

CAF Coronavirus Emergency Fund: CAF has launched a rapid response Fund to help smaller charitable organisations affected by the impact of Covid-19.

Clothworkers Foundation – Emergency Capital Programme: small capital grants of up to £5,000 for essential capital items to adapt or increase services in response to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Priority will be given to organisations supporting vulnerable and ‘at risk’ groups.

Covid-19 Response Fund: Grants are available for voluntary organisations that are working in the criminal justice system in England and Wales to support their vital work during coronavirus/COVID-19.

Gov.UK £5 million Loneliness Covid-19 Grant Fund

Grassroots Support Now – Alpkit Foundationsmall grants of £500 available for organisations that are serving those most affected by the Covid19 outbreak.

Hope for the Young – COVID-19 Emergency Fund: Max. Value: £ 250. Small grants to support young refugees and asylum seekers during the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

John Lewis & WaitroseWaitrose is creating a £1 million Community Support Fund to be used as direct aid for the communities you and our Partners live and work in. Your local shop will have these funds to support their local area based on the needs of the community.

Magic Little Grants:Magic Little Grants of £500 are available to local charities that support and inspire people to participate in sports or exercise. Localgiving have announced that they will support projects that help people to stay active during social distancing, such as online fitness classes delivered via video conferencing software or Youtube.

Martin Lewis is giving grants of £5k to £20k to small registered UK charities, or local arms of bigger charities. Foodbanks, charities engaged in community aid, financial advice help and more –  to help with specific UK coronavirus-related poverty relief projects. National Lottery Community Fund: devoting  up to £300m of National Lottery funding to addressing the current crisis.

Neighbourly Covid-19 Community Fund: Micro grants are available for charities and community groups that are existing members of the “Neighbourly” CSR platform, to support good causes that are helping communities affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.

Persimmon Charity – Community Champion / Building Futures Initiatives: Persimmon Homes is delighted to be joining forces with Team GB to give away an amazing £1 million to support children across England, Wales and Scotland and their hugely successful Community Champions programme has already donated more than £3 million to good causes in England, Wales and Scotland. Every month they give away 64 donations of up to £1,000 each to local groups and charities.

Place Makers Fund: The Place Makers Fund will award grants to local groups, organisations and charities which share their passion and commitment to changing lives and enhancing communities.

Power to Change launches up to £12 million of emergency support to help community businesses during the coronavirus crisis.

The Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund is a £25m emergency loan fund which will provide repayable finance to charities and social enterprises directly affected by the current crisis.

Resourcing Racial Justice Fund: Grants are available for frontline organisations, grassroots groups and community groups across the UK that are working to redress the impact of the coronavirus/COVID-19 and systemic racism on communities of colour.

Standard Life Foundation (UK):Coronavirus Pandemic – fast track applications: Funding is available for work directly related to the Covid-19 pandemic. Grants from £5,000 upwards are available. 

The Barclays Foundation:£100 million package for charities that are tackling the Covid-19 crisis.

Tesco’s Bag of Help – Covid-19 Communities Fund: Tesco Bags of Help is setting up a new short-term, small fund to support local communities. If your application is successful the fund will provide a single payment award of £500 to organisations who are supporting vulnerable groups. The programme is set up to support organisational need in this time of crisis rather than fund specific projects. (PLEASE NOTE: due to an overwhelming response, the application is closed to areas listed here).

Arts and Heritage:

Help Musicians (UK) – Coronavirus Financial Hardship Fund: the one off fund has been created to alleviate financial pressures that many professional musicians currently face regarding mounting expenses. Eligible musicians can apply for a one-off payment of £500. 

Historic England Emergency Response Fund:The grants available will help organisations, voluntary groups and self-employed contractors survive the immediate challenges posed by the pandemic, and to prepare for recovery.

National Lottery Heritage Emergency Fund: We are making £50 million available for a Heritage Emergency Fund to support the UK heritage sector as an immediate response to the COVID-19 crisisYouth Music Fund: Youth Music has announced a new Emergency Fund to offer additional support to music-making organisations affected by coronavirus

Health

Association of Mental Health Providers (UK) – Mental Health Response Fund: The Department of Health and Social Care has made £5m available to support the VCS mental health providers who are experiencing an increasing demand in services due to Covid-19.

NSUN Covid-19 Fund – NSUN launches new fund with grants up to £1000 to support peer support, community action and mutual aid for mental health during Covid-19 (PLEASE NOTE: this will be available from the end of April – please keep checking their website for updates).

Pink Ribbon Foundation: Grants are available to breast cancer charities in the UK that assist people affected by breast cancer and organisations that work on breast cancer research and prevention. Deadline to apply: 26 June.

Sport

Football Foundation – Pitch Preparation Fund: Grants are available for football clubs and organisations in England and Wales to get their natural and artificial grass pitches ready for when the Government’s coronavirus/COVID-19 advice allows football to start being played again.

Sport England (England) – Community Emergency Fund: this new fund aims to help community sport and physical activity organisations who are experiencing financial hardship due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Children and Young People

Erasmus+ – Youth Funding: Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. Each year, UK youth organisations and young people can access Erasmus+ funding to support life-changing international opportunities.

Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust (England and Wales) – Name of Fund: Early years’ preventative work: small and medium-sized charities working with disadvantaged children aged 0-3yrs in England and Wales can apply for small grants to help them during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kennel Club and Kennel Club Charities – Emergency Relief Initiative: supporting canine organisations in their communities which may be suffering genuine financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Independent Age Grants Fund – grants of up to £15k available for small organisations

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) is inviting proposals for public engagement with environmental science which understand, address or mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak. The total project budget is £50,000, while individual projects will receive up to £10,000.

Support Adoption for Pets: The largest grant giving charity in the UK for animal welfare charities is providing an additional £400,000 to local animal sanctuaries suffering as a result of the covid-19 outbreak. Grants range from £1,000 – £180,000.

£10 million to help disabled or seriously ill children. Fund to support families supporting and caring for disabled children or those with complex needs

Thomas Wall Trust – Digital Skills 2020 Grants Programme: grants are available for registered charities and not-for-profit organisations to support specific projects or core activities that support literacy, numeracy, digital and additional skills in order to increase employment prospects within the UK.

Waste and Resources Action Programme (England) COVID-19 Emergency Surplus Food Grant – Phase 2 now open for applications: The UK Government in collaboration with the Waste and Resources Action Programme (Wrap) have launched a £3.25 million fund to support the operations of not-for-profit food redistributors to ensure that any surplus food can reach people in need or those considered most vulnerable.
