Welcome to this update from MK Yis’ Wellbeing Champions.

World Mental Health Day is fast approaching, this is a day when the world comes together to raise awareness of mental health and mental illness. The theme for this year is around greater investment and greater access. This comes at a time when we are experiencing the unprecedented impact of the global health emergency due to Covid-19 and the impact that this is having on the mental health of many

MK YiS Team

If you haven’t heard or seen already on our YiS social media platforms and recent press releases, YiS Education and our team of Wellbeing Champions have been busy working behind the scenes organising a mental health festival to raise awareness and bring the community together for World Mental Health Day on Saturday, October 10.

The aim is to create a platform so that everybody can focus on the importance of their mental health and wellbeing for one minute or more.

The virtual festival will feature an impressive line-up of activities designed to boost mental health, as well as live Instagram interviews and personal stories. It will include experts’ tips for parents dealing with mental health problems their children may be experiencing.

Mental health and Wellbeing support for all is vital, especially during times like these and this is why our team of Wellbeing Champions decided on the event called, ‘Give your mind a minute’ to help people focus on the importance of mental health and wellbeing.

We hope you can join us for the event which will be taking place online via Instagram and YouTube. Please dont forget to follow us so that you dont miss out.

A full programme has been released on Friday 2nd October and we can’t wait!

If you would like to sponsor the event or make a small donation then please get in touch with me our Education and Training Manager, Toni, toni@mkyis.org.uk
