Join us this year for Volunteers Week on 1st – 7th June. We all know how vital volunteers are, particularly throughout this pandemic. This is the week that we nationally take time to pause and thank volunteers for all the hard work they have done, and continue to do!
For Volunteers Week, this year’s theme is ‘A time to say thanks’. We want to take this time to share and show the work that volunteers have contributed – you could send us information about how you have volunteered, share an image of how a volunteer has helped you or tell us what your volunteers have been doing.

A call out for groups!
As part of this year’s celebration of thanks, we would like to ask what you have got planned for your volunteers, both past and present! We know that a lot of volunteers have not been able to continue their valued contributions this year, but they still need celebrating!
Do you have plans for Volunteer’s Week? How will you be thanking your valued volunteers, both past and present? How have your volunteers been helping your organisation?
Not sure where to start? Here’s some helpful ideas to help you say thank you …
- Run a virtual coffee morning with your volunteers
- Organise a Covid-safe picnic in the park!
- Send around cards (or e-cards) of thank yous!
- Organise a Covid-safe Trustee Breakfast
- Shout all about them on social media
We would love for you to let us know what you’ve got planned! We can share your shout-outs or anything that you are doing to thank your volunteers through our communications.
Submission deadline: 24th May 2021.
Are you a volunteer?
If you are a volunteer, how have you been helping through this challenging year? What has a volunteer done to help you in your hour of need? Or perhaps they’ve helped a loved one.
We would love for you to get in touch and share or shout your stories loud and proud to celebrate each other! We want to make sure all volunteers are recognised for the support they have given to their local community, and to help you share your gratitude and say thank you to those that have taken the time to support you this year.

How can we help?
We will be celebrating all things Volunteer’s Week by having a dedicated news bulletin for volunteers!
We aim to post once a day at least about all things volunteers on our social media channels!
We will be doing a ‘round-up’ blog after Volunteers Week to make sure we haven’t missed anyone and to share the thank you’s from MK residents and groups during Volunteer’s Week!
Whatever you are doing to say thank you, remember to use the tags below to tag us on your social media platforms!
