Who are The Mix MK?

The Mix MK is an informal, friendly gathering for people affected by mental ill-health. They meet twice a week in Milton Keynes to support local people in forming new friendships and offer support with accessing local services.

Visitors can enjoy getting involved in the range of activities available, such as arts and crafts, games, playing pool and table football. They also serve cakes, biscuits, hot and cold drinks during these warm and welcoming sessions.

What will the role of Chairperson involve?

The Mix are looking for a new leader for their community group. This opportunity is for an individual who sees the big picture and the role grassroots community groups play within that.

Since reopening after Covid, The Mix have been operating without a Chairperson, whilst this role will not require the new chair to get involved in the drop-in sessions themselves, it is advantageous to the role.

The position will involve assisting with marketing and communications; general administration; hosting events; management tasks; working on local projects and connecting the community.

What type of person are The Mix searching for?

A local person who cares passionately about mental health support in the community and can help The Mix realise their mission to further support the most vulnerable people in Milton Keynes.

Someone with experience in a community based setting, as a staff member or on a voluntary basis.

Relevant qualifications or experience will be required. References will be requested.
