For Carer’s Week (6-12 June), an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, we’re highlighting Carers MK. Read on to find out more about this Milton Keynes charity.

Who are Carers MK?

Carers MK support the health and wellbeing of individuals who are caring for someone who cannot manage without them due to illness, physical disability, frailty, learning disability, mental health issues, addiction or additional needs.

They support carers from all backgrounds including young carers, parents of children with a disability or an additional need, carers from the black and minority ethnic community (BAME), older carers and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) carers.

Carers MK are currently recruiting volunteers, could you help make a difference to the lives of carers in Milton Keynes?

Roles available:

  • Assisting at their Carers Support Groups and Training and Workshops
  • Drivers to transport young carers to and from their club nights
  • Admin support
  • Helping with fundraising and raising awareness of Carers MK at events
