Thursday 9th November – project opening event at The Almere
We are delighted to invite you to our CA:MK Cancer Support Outreach Open Event, officially launching our new Cancer Support Community Development and Outreach (Ethnic Minorities and Faith Communities) Project.
About the Cancer Support Project
Hanifa Umar is our new Community Action: MK Cancer Support Community Development and Outreach worker for Ethnic Minorities and Faith Communities. This unique community role, in Partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, aims to enable and empower co production in adapting services across cancer care with service users, carers and service providers with the intention of improving access, experience and positive outcomes.

About the Opening Event
The Opening Event will be a chance for cancer support healthcare professionals, support groups and Milton Keynes to come together and learn more about the origins of our project, the research we’ve conducted, and the key recommendations identified. We also hope to share details about our project framework and the overarching outcomes that we aim to collectively achieve within Cancer Support for Ethnic Minorities groups and Faith communities.
We warmly welcome people from all walks of life and backgrounds to join us at our table. Our event will provide guests the opportunity to network, build new connections and engage in conversations on how we can collaboratively and compassionately help everyone with Cancer to live as fully as possible with the intention of improving access, experience, engagement and inclusivity.
Thursday 9th November. The event will start at 4.30pm at The Almere in Central Milton Keynes – get the address and directions here.
