Yesterday afternoon, our Community Mobiliser for the Expansion Areas, Josan, and our Growth Officer, Hannah, ventured on into the sunshine to run a ‘pop up’ in the new Fairfields development in the Western Expansion Area.
We invited residents of the new site to come along and chat to us about plans for the area and to meet their neighbours. There was even cake decorating and arts & crafts to keep the little ones busy!
We had 4 lovely ladies who dropped by to chat. They heard all about plans for the site, and were particularly interested in preschool and nursery provision, crossing points across the V4 and what leisure facilities are available locally. They also chatted with a local volunteer from Fullers Slade about ideas for their new community and how they could integrate with existing estates.
Thanks to all who attended! If you were unable to come, we are running 2 further pop ups in Fairfields and Whitehouse….please feel free to stop by and say hello!
We are asking residents of Broughton Gate and Brooklands to answer a few short questions about what it’s like to live in a new community, and what you would like to see as the area develops.
We will use the information (anonymised of course!) to get a sense of how the community is developing, and share your views with decision makers who are involved in creating new communities to see what lessons can be learned.
As a ‘thank you’ for your time we will enter you into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher.
