Learn more about dementia and take a step in making your community more dementia friendly this Christmas. This event will be hosted by Mark Lancaster and Iain Stewart and will bring together community, business and health and social care representatives from across Milton Keynes in the hope of increasing understanding and awareness around dementia. The event will also provide a unique networking opportunity, will feature presentations by Alzheimer’s Society and the local Dementia Action Alliance, as well as festive treats!

Volunteer Drivers required Urgently!
Due to our continuing expansion of the Community Car Service and increased demand for journeys we are looking for Volunteer Drivers to join our service as soon as possible! Works For Us are seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Tutors for sessional ESOL delivery, supporting people into employment. This is part of a two year Building Better Opportunities Support into Employment project which will support unemployed and economically inactive participants to overcome barriers to move into, or closer to, paid employment. Tutors must have their own transport and be willing to work in Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and districts of Cherwell, Oxfordshire.
Works for Us promotes social inclusion by helping people to make informed choices about employment and training needs, providing them with a pathway to paid or better paid work. We enable them to access vocational guidance, training and work experience opportunities. We raise their skill levels, qualifications, motivation and confidence to help them to compete more effectively in the labour market.

Works For Us currently have a vacancy for a Volunteer Projects Co-ordinator who’s purpose is to clarify and cement the link between volunteering and gaining work. This person will be looking to develop an approach that actively creates volunteering opportunities that benefit Works For Us, but also designed with development of the skills that are needed in the workplace.
