National

Baseball and Softball UK: Grants of up to £5,000 are available to baseball and softball clubs and leagues looking to build and upgrade their facilities. The funding is made available through BaseballSoftballUK’s (BSUK) Facilities Fund which aims to support clubs and leagues by making them stronger, safer and more sustainable.

Capital Grants Programme | RLWC2021
The Capital Grants Programme, created by Rugby League World Cup 2021, opened for applications on 23 October 2018 with the aim of investing in projects that offer opportunities for people from all different backgrounds to be active in rugby league. Delivered by RLWC2021 in partnership with The National Lottery, Rugby Football League, Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, the CreatedBy programme is a funding pot to support growth in participation in the sport.

Dickie Bird Foundation. The Foundation is to assist young people under 16 years of age to participate, to the best of their ability, in the sport of their choice irrespective of their social circumstances, culture or ethnicity and to ensure that, in doing so, they improve their chances both inside and outside sport. Please note that Grants are payable to disadvantaged children aged under 16 for essential sports equipment. Travel or coaching are not payable. Payment is for individuals therefore teams/groups should not apply.

Football Foundation – Premier League Defibrillator Fund: Grassroots football facilities can apply to the Football Foundation to install a defibrillator and storage cabinet on their premises aimed at helping save the life of someone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. The fund is likely to support around 2000 clubs and the allocation of funds will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Government: Sports Fund to Tackle Youth Crime: Charities across England and Wales are invited to apply for a share of £5 million in funding to run sports programmes designed to steer young people away from crime, anti-social behaviour, and serious violence. The aim of the funding is to prevent young people from disadvantaged backgrounds from becoming involved in crime or anti-social behaviour by offering them sporting activities aimed at teaching teamwork, resilience and discipline. The funding is made available by the Ministry of Justice and delivered by StreetGames, the Sport for Development Coalition, and the Alliance of Sport in Criminal Justice. The closing date for applications is the 5th December 2022.

Hargreaves Foundation: Grants are available for charities and educational institutions that support those under the age of 18 years, and living with a mental health problem, physical disability or growing up in poverty through the mediums of sport and education.

Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust: To support small grassroots clubs, that are registered charities, CASCs or other non-profits, through grants of up to £5,000 to pay for equipment, transport and kit to help engage vulnerable or disadvantaged people with sport. Children and young adults facing barriers, including young carers, can apply for individual grants up to £2,000 to help them participate in sport. No deadline.

Sport England : Grants are available to not-for-profit community organisations for projects addressing the challenges posed to people taking part in sport and physical activity in England.

Sport England – The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Activity Fund: The fund aims to use sport and physical activity as a means of bringing a community together and providing opportunities for people who may be less physically active. Project costs such as facility hire and coaching, as well as for small capital improvements are eligible. It’s important that your project can continue to run, or have a lasting legacy as a result of the funding. Priority will be given to projects that work with people in disadvantaged communities. Awards of between £300 and £10,000 are available.

Sported: With 1 in 3 girls dropping out of sport after puberty, funds donated by Always from the sale of sanitary products are to be used to provide small grants of £200 and equipment packs to Sported members who are delivering vital services for young women and girls in their community. Grants are for venue hire, coaching costs or equipment to keep girls activities running. Sported members use the power of sport to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people and build stronger, safer communities. Membership is free.
