Developing a new Climate Action Network for MK

Extinction Rebellion MK and Transition Town MK/Doughnut Economics MK, with support from Community Action: MK are initiating a network for the local VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) Sector in Milton Keynes, which will be focused on positive action on climate change and the related environmental issues. The ambition is to also join forces with our regional VCSE partners and create effective links across the BLMK (Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes) region too.

The aim of this collaborative initiative is to provide a regular space for groups related to local action on climate – to inform and inspire each other, identify common goals and shared causes, and generate joint initiatives.

We held an initial meeting on the 9th July and are now preparing for our first network event: the Vision Planning event on Saturday 14th October! We hope this will be a great opportunity to a wider range of VCSE groups and communities to come together: share our work and connect about ways of working together for a stronger voice related to the climate emergency.
