Clare Walton, Interim CEO
Having worked in the voluntary sector in Milton Keynes for 16 years, I have unfailing belief in the power of three things: people, curiosity and cake. Committed to ensuring Community Action: MK provides the very best services to the voluntary sector in Milton Keynes, I bring a wealth of experience, a dedication to collaboration and the ability to pose challenging questions to my role as Interim Chief Executive of Community Action: MK.
Robbie Macpherson, COO
I am in charge of operations – making sure we deliver what we agreed with our funders. This means supporting our Contract Leads to ensure delivery is on time, to quality and cost. I also supports some of the contract work directly and love to help people connect our different contracts so they have an increased impact. My interest in Appreciative Inquiry and Positive Psychology explains why I am involved with Community Action: MK.
Alissa Pemberton, IT & Communications Manager
I’ve worked with Community Action: MK in a number of different capacities over the years and am currently supporting the development of our technology to improve the way we communicate and connect communities with each other. I love the way that words, images and data can help us communicate the rich tapestry of community life in our city.
Julie Webb, Resourcing Manager and Development Team Member
My name is Julie and I support a number of projects as part of the Development Team. I have worked in Milton Keynes’s voluntary and community sector for over 12 years, and at CA: MK for 5. I love working for the organisation as it gives me the opportunity to support a huge range of people to take action and make a real difference in their communities.
Laura Jeffrey, Office Manager
I’ve worked for Community Action: MK for seven years now. I look after the smooth running of the office, support the community car service and look after our wonderful office volunteers.
Jessica MacKinnon, Development Team Member
I am a Community Development Team Member for Community Action: MK and support MK:Smart and citizen innovation, the Community Action Platform for Energy (CAPE) and Big Local Conniburrow. Although new to Milton Keynes, I am passionate about working with communities to explore their ideas for innovation and environmental sustainability. I also send out two monthly newsletters: Citizen Innovation (looking at citizen-led initiatives in Milton Keynes) and beyond and Growth Gossip (an update on new communities in Milton Keynes and other housing and community innovations).
Allison Carlton, Development Team Member
I have taken on the role of Development Team Member working primarily on the Oakridge Park development and other identified areas. I have extensive knowledge of community engagement previously working within the health sector as a Communications and Engagement Manager and more recently have worked within Milton Keynes supporting the disabled community.
Josan Race, Development Team Member
My name is Josan and I work in the Development Team for the new expansion areas, this includes. The East, Broughton and Brooklands, Tattenhoe Park and Kingsmead south, and the West, Whitehouse and Fairfields.
Anna Klis-Davies, Development Team Member
I am a member of the Development Team and a former Community Mobiliser for Beanhill. I currently work on our citizen innovation projects, which include MK:Smart and CAPE, Community Action Platform for Energy. I am also supporting the work of local initiatives, such as the MK Futures 2050 and MK Community Energy Alliance. I feel really passionate about sustainability and community engagement, and have really enjoyed working on some very exciting projects covering these areas in Milton Keynes!
Stewart Ikin, Development Team Member
I enjoy supporting local residents from all backgrounds and ages in becoming more engaged with their neighbourhoods, and in having a voice in everything which affects them, their families and their fellow residents. I thrive on working with volunteers who are the ‘lifeblood’ of Milton Keynes. I am passionate about young people feeling part of their communities, and champion those who feel they don’t have a chance to become involved. I was born and have lived in Milton Keynes most of my life and feel a real affinity for the area and the people. Like MK I am officially over 50!
My name is Sarah and I’ve worked for Community Action: MK for a long time – about 13 years as a volunteer and 5 months as paid staff. My current role is working as Community Car Service Administrator, which is an interesting job. My duties involve booking journeys for passengers, answering queries and associated administrative tasks. I work a 10 hour week in this role.
I am currently the Project Administrator on the Physical Activity Volunteering Project which aims to increase Volunteering and Physical Activity across Milton Keynes. I also assist with the secretarial duties of the Homelessness Partnership Group. I originally started with Community Action: MK as a Volunteer.
