Are you an effective trustee? Can you help one of MK’s oldest independent charities?

MKPA would like to meet you

By stepping into this role, you will be helping to ensure MKPA’s ongoing sustainability, and therefore allow MKPA to continue to provide support to other local community groups, organisations and families in and around Milton Keynes.

Whilst, not a ‘frontline’ charity, MKPA is a vital part of the community by providing affordable resources and services to local children, families, carers, nurseries, schools in addition to other local community groups such as Guides and Scout , youth clubs and SEND support groups and in 2021 will celebrate it’s 50th year of operation.

What’s in it for you?

This volunteer role, although challenging, would be highly rewarding to see MKPA through this difficult period and into it’s next phase. It gives the volunteer the opportunity to share their business expertise and enable positive change.

In addition, to the benefit the local community would derive from MKPA’s sustainability, you would be instrumental in securing a future for our small, dedicated staff team.

Interested?

MKPA are eager to find experienced individuals to join the Executive Team and make a positive impact in enabling the charity to further develop it’s vision of a world where children find themselves through play by ‘Making Play Happen and Making Play Matter’.

As a member of the Executive Team, you will have joint responsibility for steering MKPA’s business strategy and policies, thereby ensuring its future sustainability (full role responsibilities available on request).

We are looking for people who can offer experience in any of the following areas:

  • Governance
  • Business Planning/Strategy
  • Business Development
  • Marketing
  • Fundraising

You are somebody who likes to get stuck in, values learning through play in childhood development and has a passion for people and the local community.

In conjunction with your fellow board members, you must be able to assess the immediate needs of the organisation and implement changes to make a rapid and positive impact, taking into account the operational challenges of supporting a medium sized charity.
