Become a Community Connector and receive FREE training from the Open University

Volunteers needed for a new project that will train community based Connectors, who will help residents in Woughton, the Lakes Estate, Broughton Gate and Brooklands better understand their finances and provide tips to help them make better choices that will have positive impacts on their financial wellbeing

What’s involved?

  • Free training from the Open University on basic finance skills and budgeting, with access to free resources
  • Free tablet device to each Community Connector that completes the project
  • Small budget for community activities to reach out to residents
  • Support and training from Community Action: MK on community engagement
  • The project will run from July 2017 – April 2018, with individual Connectors volunteering at times that suit them

Who can become a Community Connector?

  • No previous experience or knowledge necessary
  • A flexible volunteering role for anyone interested in gaining new skills whilst supporting the local community and contributing to the Open University’s research
  • Of particular interest to volunteers from Woughton, the Lakes Estate, Broughton Gate and Brooklands, but we are also keen to hear from anyone interested in becoming a Connector from across MK
