As part of our Strengthening Communities workstream, we work within the new housing developments in Milton Keynes, to enable strong communities to grow.

We support residents and voluntary groups within Milton Keynes to connect with ongoing plans for growth, to ensure their voices are heard. We also work to communicate with citizens and the voluntary sector to support them to stay up to date with short and long term plans. Our approach is underpinned by the Community Development Principles and co-production. We belive that, with a bit of help, voluntary groups and communities can do great things!

The below map is a quick guide to recent, ongoing and forthcoming development in Milton Keynes. The map aims to give a snapshot of the headlines related to MK’s growth, and does not include every planned development.

Our Outreach Programme

We are currently delivering a new programme of outreach activities – the latest updates on our outreach activities and ways to get involved are shared through our Latest News and you can see the upcoming events on our Events page here.

Our activities combine opportunities for local residents to find out more about what is happening in their local areas, what the volunteering opportunities are and how they could start new or develop existing voluntary groups and projects! Come and say hello to our team!

We listen to the needs of the local people and record any key insights on our MK Community Data Tool, so that the information based on their lived experience (their issues and ideas) can be fed into the local planning and decision making – so that their voices are heard.

In the past two years we have held regular drop-ins at the Whitehouse Surgery in Fairfields (MK8 1EQ) to engage with the local residents. We’ve also had various community groups joining us to promote their work and their volunteering opportunities. You can hear from some of those who have already joined us here.

  • We are starting a programme at Hummingbirds Children Centre (MK10 9LS) where groups and organisations will be able to share their work. If you are an organisation and would like to share through this programme please email support@communityactionmk.org You can also contact Hummingbirds Children Centre to find out more here
