Last week we held our annual general meeting, which is always our biggest calendar event of the year. And this year was no exception! On behalf of the staff team, we wanted to give thanks and recognition! Read this blog to find out more …

Our AGM this year centred around celebrating the incredibly vibrant voluntary and community groups of Milton Keynes. And they turned out in their numbers!
The mood was set from the beginning of the day by the incredibly talented cello duet from Alina Orchestra. We thank them for their beautiful musical sets throughout the day! What an ambience they created for our event!

We had keynote speeches from the Mayor of Milton Keynes and Maddy Desforges of NAVCA, and want to thank them for making the journey to the event and taking time to speak, as well as talk to some of our attendees, which I’m sure was greatly appreciated by all. We also had speeches from our sponsors, Qlic IT for Charities, as well as 3 local groups who shared their journeys with us, from where they began, to where they are now; Transition Town MK, DAFS and Ukraine Appeal CIO.

Our stallholders came out in their numbers and in full force – we were joyfully oversubscribed! We had colour, crafts and beautifully organised chaos as all our attendees navigated their way around the room to access the stalls and take time to talk to the stallholders and find out more about them. We were also lucky enough to be joined by two of our local MP’s, Emily Darlington and Callum Anderson. We thank them for taking the time out of their day to attend our event and get a flavour of the Milton Keynes voluntary and community sector.
We felt that event was a huge success and we hope that it gave all our attendees a chance to make connections and network, as well as grab some of the yummy refreshments and pizzas from our wonderful hosts Camphill MK, who worked tirelessly on the day to ensure the smooth running of everything, from helping with the table set up, lighting and sound, refreshment replenishment and provision!
If you attended on the day, then please, let us know what you thought of our event! You can fill out this short feedback form here. This then helps us to inform and improve all our future events!
