Community Action: MK’s Annual General Meeting is more than a review of the past year. It is an opportunity for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector to come together, share ideas and strengthen the partnerships that help communities across Milton Keynes thrive.
Bringing together voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, alongside key partners and funders from across Milton Keynes, the event provides a valuable opportunity to connect, collaborate and explore how we can achieve even greater impact for local communities.
Last year’s AGM welcomed more than 75 attendees from across the sector, creating a vibrant space for networking, learning and collaboration. Feedback from participants highlighted the value of the event:
“Thank you for hosting us yesterday. It was inspiring to hear from so many fantastic causes and learn about the work they are doing. The support you provide, and the events you facilitate, are hugely valuable.”
Another attendee shared:
“We had a thoroughly enjoyable morning at the Community Action AGM last week at the fabulous Camphill Milton Keynes. All the speakers were motivational and the attendees were like-minded community groups, each one inspirational. This was not your ordinary AGM!”

Why attend?
At a time when many organisations are facing increasing demand, limited resources and changing community needs, working in isolation is rarely the answer. Collaboration has never been more important.
This year’s theme, ‘Working collaboratively; to achieve greater and more meaningful impact’, focuses on the power of partnership and the difference we can make when we work together. Throughout the day, we will explore how organisations across the sector can share learning, build stronger relationships and find new ways to respond to local challenges.
Our AGM is also an opportunity to reflect on the collective impact being made across Milton Keynes and consider how we can build on that success in the future. Attendees will hear about collaborative achievements from across the sector, contribute to discussions about the opportunities and challenges ahead, and connect with others who are equally passionate about creating positive change.
Whether you are part of a well-established charity, a grassroots community group, a volunteer-led project or a strategic partner organisation, there is something valuable to gain from being in the room. Some of the strongest partnerships begin with a simple conversation, and the AGM provides the perfect opportunity to meet new people, strengthen existing connections and exchange ideas with others who understand both the opportunities and realities of working in the sector.
With many organisations focused on responding to immediate needs and day-to-day pressures, there is rarely time to step back and reflect on the wider impact being made across the sector. This AGM offers an opportunity to do just that – recognising the collective contribution of organisations across Milton Keynes while exploring how we can achieve even more together in the future.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided, creating plenty of opportunities for informal networking throughout the day.
