YMCA MK – Youth Matters Awards 2024 semi-finalists!

Over the last 12 months YMCA Milton Keynes has been home to 388 young people, supported 110 young people into employment and provided over 8,000 hours of meaningful activities. The centre recently purchased 38 move-on properties across Milton Keynes to support young people into independence and are launching a new supported housing service in Northampton (after YMCA Northampton became a subsidy of YMCA Milton Keynes) for young people leaving care.

A new service at YMCA Milton Keynes, Mental Wealth, revolutionises the mental health support available to residents by providing timely support to young people with a range of complex issues. The YMCA also currently delivers youth mentoring in various settings, working with local secondary schools, the youth offending team and Milton Keynes University Hospital and has just been awarded funding to set up six youth clubs in three areas of Milton Keynes where the need for quality youth work is highest.

They have also re-launched the HomeGround café which, alongside meeting and conferencing facilities, provides sustainable income. One of YMCA Milton Keynes’ residents said, “YMCA give residents the opportunities to make memories that last a lifetime”.
