Falls can have a devastating impact on people’s lives, leading to injuries, loss of confidence, and reduced independence. In Milton Keynes, voluntary and community groups play a vital role in keeping people active, connected, and well – all of which are key to preventing falls.
We invite you to join this interactive workshop to explore how your group, whatever its focus, can contribute to a city-wide falls prevention and recovery effort. We’re really keen to hear insights from groups that work directly with older people or other groups at higher risk of falls, as well as groups that work with any adults, as early prevention work, such as promoting simple everyday actions that improve strength and balance, is also key.
We’re interested in hearing from sports groups, and other groups that lead physical activities from walking to dancing. However, your group doesn’t need to be delivering exercise programmes to play a part. From tackling health inequalities to raising awareness, there’s something we can all do to help!
This is a great opportunity to:
- Share your expertise and learn from others
- Explore practical ways your group can support falls prevention
- Help shape accessible and inclusive services in Milton Keynes
This workshop is being run collaboratively by Community Action: MK, MKUH (Milton Keynes University Hospital), Milton Keynes City Council and CNWL NHSFT (Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust) and BLMK ICB (Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board).
Join us to be part of the conversation and the solution. Together, we can help reduce falls and support people to stay healthy.
