Our next thank you comes from The African Diaspora Foundation’s Temitope Ajiboye, who tells the story of how they began to where they are now and give thanks to all the hard-working volunteers in their group!
The African Diaspora Foundation
When Milton Keynes celebrated its 50th anniversary, I was filled with excitement, but also deep disappointment. Amidst the festivities, I was shocked by lack of African representation.in a city as diverse as Milton Keynes – I felt unseen, unheard and underrepresented.
That moment sparked conversations with a few like minded friends . From those discussions, The African Diaspora Foundation (ADF) was born not from complaint, but from a solutions driven space. We realised we couldn’t wait for change, we had to be the change. Our mission became clear: to bring people together, share knowledge, strengthen our identity, and ensure all communities – especially African ones – are informed, engaged and empowered to participate fully in the life of Milton Keynes.
Over the years, I’ve been amazed by the growth. More and more individuals are stepping up, finding solutions to the gaps they see around them. Whether it’s identity tackling issues, food security or lack of inclusion, its clear: it only takes one person to start. To all the incredible volunteers who’ve joined this journey – thank you. Your time , passion and commitment are transforming lives and communities. Because of You our voices are louder, our impact is deeper and our heritage is stronger. Let’s keep Building . Let’s keep showing up . Let’s keep being the change.
Thank you!
To our amazing African Diaspora Foundation (ADF) volunteers, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You tirelessly work to preserve and promote African heritage in the beautifully diverse communities of Milton Keynes does not go unnoticed.

I just want to say thank you to African diasporas foundation team – your impact in bridging the gap of identity issue, fostering community togetherness, tackling food waste and poverty and promoting integration across Milton Keynes and beyond, despite all the lack of funds.
