Our next thank you is from Milton Keynes University Hospital to their Butterfly Volunteers! Read on to hear their message of thanks!
Milton Keynes University Hospital
Our Butterfly Volunteers are an incredibly special part of MKUH. As end-of-life pastoral support volunteers, they provide compassionate, non-clinical support to patients and families during some of the most vulnerable and emotional moments of life. Their presence brings comfort, dignity, and humanity to those nearing the end of life—often simply by being there, listening, or offering a quiet moment of care.
The impact of our Butterfly Volunteers cannot be overstated. They bridge the gap between clinical care and emotional wellbeing, ensuring that no one feels alone or forgotten. They offer companionship, reassurance, and gentle strength—not only to patients but to families and staff as well. Their role supports a more holistic approach to end-of-life care, and their empathy and sensitivity leave a lasting impression on everyone they meet.
Thank You!
To every Butterfly Volunteer: Thank you. Your kindness, patience, and quiet courage make more difference than words can express. You embody the heart of what it means to truly care, and we are endlessly grateful for the light you bring to such important and tender moments. Your presence offers comfort in silence, strength in vulnerability, and warmth in the final chapters of life. We are so thankful to have each and every one of you as part of the Butterfly team. You make a lasting difference—and we see you, we appreciate you, and we couldn’t do this without you!
